Gulp by Tim Fishlock

June 29th, 2011 by retail design blog

Gulp is three thousand translucent drinking straws interwoven to form a dense, spherical lampshade. Made from one continuous length of interconnected straws, you could – if you possessed Dyson-like suction – put one end in a drink and gulp it down through the other. Each piece takes seven days to make and is made to order. Gulp is available in a strictly limited edition of 50. Price is £1250. The diameter is 800mm. Each purchase includes a signed, hand embossed print (500mm by 700mm) also limited to 50.
