…,Staat designed the Nike Running Club, a shop in Amsterdam where runners can get a check-up and buy running shoes and clothing. On March 27, the Nike Running Club opened its doors in the Amsterdamse Bos – one of the running hotspots of the Netherlands. Runners and joggers alike, can visit the shop after their weekly workout, get a full running scan and buy the latest running shoes and clothing from Nike.

Staat tried to harmonize these elements into a relative small area. The key thought in this design are the three elements of running: a sense of freedom, speed and movement.
These elements can be found in an abstracted running track spread throughout the store, and four LED strips that float above this track. These strips consist of 6.571 LED lights and are controlled by a media server. But the centre of attention is the Nike Running Lab – a glass cubicle that divides the runners lounge with NikeID (where one can design their own running shoes).
