Ermenegildo Zegna has opened its new Flagship Store in Sydney Australia, on Castlereagh Street in the heart of the luxury precinct at the new Westfield Sydney. The Sydney Flagship is the latest addition to over 560 Zegna stores (over 300 company-owned stores) in 80 countries around the world, with a combined generated overall turnover of €963m in 2010. The dynamic double-storey facade designed by renowned architect Peter Marino compliments the brand’s use of quality materials and modern style within the 330sqm of luxury selling space.

The store is the ultimate men’s emporium, where the full range of Zegna products and services will be made available. The luxury offerings consist of the hand-made ‘Couture’ collection, exclusive ‘Su Misura’ (made-to-measure) service, traditional Italian tailoring ‘Sartoria’ in contemporary silhouettes, as well as the recently introduced Upper Casual collection – a refined sportswear collection.

The flagship store will also offer the appealing Zegna Sport and the fashion-conscious Z Zegna collections as well as an extensive range of leather and textile accessories. The Sydney Westfield Boutique will also act as a ‘launch pad’ for Ermenegildo Zegna’s new licensing collection of pens and watches; the latter shortly to be released.

All of the collections are displayed across different areas specially designed to create a virtual journey through the Zegna world. Customers begin their experience on the ground floor and follow through the second floor at leisure; either by stair or with the ease of the in-house elevator, and ultimately reaching the luxury room, an area devoted to personal shopping with an in-house tailor to meet any requirements.

“This is a very exciting project and we are delighted to be associated with Westfield Sydney.“ states Paolo Zegna, President of the Group, “Westfield and Ermenegildo Zegna share a common desire to contribute towards Sydney’s luxury retail by raising the bar on the quality of in-store shopping experience, by an ever more discerning Australian consumer. We will operate the Sydney store directly, thereby boosting our brand’s retail development even further and giving greater prestige to our presence in one of the most beautiful and international cities in the world.”

The Ermenegildo Zegna Sydney Store opening celebrates a long history with Australia, with the company’s long tradition of sourcing the very best superfine Australian merino wool as far back as the 1930’s. Strengthening this association was the Introduction of Zegna’s Wool awards as early as 1963 supporting the ASWGA, Australian Superfine Merino Wool Growers Association and more recently the introduction and extension of these awards with the 2002 Vellus Aureum (Golden Fleece) Awards set to take place on the 22nd September 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.

The Sydney flagship store is a strategic opening that adds to its regional Asia-pacific network as well as its other two boutiques within the Oceania market; Melbourne opened in 2002 and Auckland 1997. Ermenegildo Zegna also enjoys strong distribution within select David Jones stores, as well as a reputable network of authorised multi-brand dealers throughout Australia and New Zealand.
