Carhartt Work In Progress store, London

March 3rd, 2012 by retail design blog

London’s Shoreditch area just got a little cooler with the opening of the Carhartt – Work In Progress store earlier this week. It’s the brand’s fourth store in Britain, and this one is located in a historic listed building that was previously occupied by a barber and confectioner. Although completely renovated, the retail space has retained an industrial edge that matches well with the brand’s image.

A number of materials have been specially sourced and reworked by local craftsmen to create a vibe that’s warm and authentic. Artist Pietro Sanguinetti was commissioned to create a wall-mounted neon artwork, similar to the one that’s on display at the sister outlet in New York. Next to its own clotinh range, the new Carhartt – Work In Progress store carries a selection of top tier and collab products, such as A.P.C. and Uniform Experiment.
