Camper Together sotre by Isabel López Vilalta, Bologna

March 16th, 2012 by retail design blog

For its newest Together store in Bologna, Camper teamed with designer Isabel López Vilalta to create a Mediterranean-inspired space that harmonizes past and present. ‘We wanted to highlight the essence of the Mallorcan Mediterranean through thedifferent materials used: the sand in the flooring; the blue sky floating in space; the sun on one wall and, on the other, the sea with a shoal of red fish,’ Lopez Vilalta says.

The two-storey shop was designed with a sustainable mission in mind; various materials used have been reclaimed or recycled. Boxes traditionally used for the almond harvest are now used to display shoes, while other furnishings were installed in their original sizes to avoid waste. ‘The essence of the Mallorcan Mediterranean, which is the very essence of Camper, permeates an old establishment in the historic city of Bologna while paying homage to its past,’ Lopez says.
