Coffee store in hacarmel market Tel Aviv. The store is 14.5m. The store has to contain: 30 types of roasted coffee, 150 types of tea, espresso machine and a bar. The coffee silos designed for this project ,using the maximum height of the store. The design idea was to create an open market store feeling, by using a market materials language. The floor is made of asphalt, leading the street in to the store, stainless steel, corrugated iron and happy market lightning.

Silo design
The small measures of the store (14.5 square meters) forced me o find a solution for storing a lot of merchandise. The solution was using the height of the store. Storing the merchandise with the existing types of silo’s would have forced me to use all of the store’s wall’s leaving no space for other needed functions. Therefore I designed a modular silo in which the coffee’s pouring system is similar in all the silo’s and the difference between them is in the size of the coffee container.

The glass from which the coffee beans are displayed is easily pulled out for cleaning purposes. The pouring system consists a divider and a weight that by lifting the weight coffee beans are released and by releasing the weight the pouring system closes. The return beans door is located ay the bottom of the silo in order to remain FIFO in an efficient way. The silo is made of stainless steal which is adequate for food.

Additional values for the customer –
– Utilization of the space in an optimal way
– Strong visual element which can characterize in the event of expanding to a net of stores
– Unique design
