Retail Mark Design have unveiled the new store concept design for Chicken Cottage in Greater Manchester, United Kindgom. Chicken Cottage operate over 300 fast food outlet stores across the UK through dedicated franchisees. Traditionally, each store would follow a standard design format but as older stores have been scheduled for refurbishments, franchisees have taken to commissioning designs that standout in their area, rather than follow a standard colour scheme and layout.

A number of design companies pitched for the project and Usman Malik from Retail Mark Design was selected for his striking use of lime green and lava grey contrasting colours. The store, which is located in Oldham, Greater Manchester is situated within a densely populated fast food area – with as many as nine fried chicken fast food outlets operating within a one square mile area.

The store is one of the largest in the area with a double fronted design and spreads across two floors. Since the redesign, the store has seen an increase in traffic, increase in occupancy time and delivery orders. Key elements used include, DAN design light shades, laminated digital print wallpaper, minimalistic fixed seating design, and LED lighting.
