It was a year ago when I faced this space for the first time. And after another year, I faced the space again. At the second meeting, I thought that I want to create a sunny void in the urban context (title: Raum), where people can enjoy relaxation and fun.

I was inspired by the relatively narrow-looking spaces due to the high ceiling, in which I wanted to create a kind of a forest. The design was done very quickly by scattering the column-shaped masses as planned in the process of conceptualization.

It was an exceptional project in the point that additional elements were even not considered at all because they were not necessary. In particular, I aimed to maximize the tension of the space where is characterized with high and narrow ceilings by heightening the higher elements and making the narrow elements even narrower. And I tried to take a ‘refined natural or super-natural’ approach which is more developed and reinterpreted than the currently popular naturalism in conducting this project.
