Last summer, a remarkable sneaker store opened its doors in the centre of Antwerp. Working on an extremely tight budget, the team at PINKEYE were challenged to decorate the space. Located in a quiet street close to the vibrant shopping centre, the store concept needed to be strong enough to make this new store the new talk of the town. In doing so, PINKEYE’s designers traveled back in time to their adolescent years. They envisioned a retro school-style shop, mimicking a classroom.

Using recycled materials from a school that had recently closed, the shop includes desks, a teacher’s lectern and old-fashioned pannier bags. Climbing rails are used as product display stands and geography maps adorn the walls. Chemistry flasks serve as displays for caps.
