London-based design studio Afroditi Krassa has completed ‘Oriel’, a brasserie located in terminal 3 of London’s Heathrow Airport. The restaurant is a relaunch of the Eatery’s original Sloane square location. As an homage to a period in history when traveling was a luxury, the eatery reflects the 1930’s art deco movement with the textures, colors and geometric motif of the era.

The custom-made features include the metal work, herringbone patterned mosaic floor and the curved banquettes. Behind the bar, a graphic collection of old station clocks and vintage travel photographs hang off the hook and train screens to remind the users of the original location. The entire concept of the restaurant was given a new visual language, including an updated logo and graphic typeface. ‘Oriel’, serves a selection of classic french food with a modern take.
