Anna Cerezo and Marcos Aretio (a married couple, both designers) moved from Madrid to Nuremberg in 2010. Marcos and Udo Kloos met by chance one day and both went for a coffee… Now they work together in their interior&communication design studio: Aretio&Kloos.

Anna had a brilliant idea: to start a little Tapas Bar with simple but quality food. As Marcos and Udo had the space in their office, they all decided to work on the concept and the design of “La Tapería”, a temporary Tapas Bar which will be open every weekend from 18th of october until 1st of december 2012.

The main challenge was to build a flexible space. Counting with only 18 square meters, they had to find a solution for housing around 25 people eating and drinking, or just drinking. The solution finally was reached by building a long but narrow table that holds the food trays through a gap between two layers, allowing people to put up to 14 trays in case of need.

The shelves on the walls are hanging from an aluminum profile that already existed, integrating the furniture in the space. The Tapas trays are painted in irregular shapes and colors, and finally engraved with the logo. They have also created a series of rubber stamps with tag words such as: “Que Aproveche” (Bon Appetit), “Salud” (Cheers) or “Riquísimo” (Delicious) which they stamp on the trays kitchen paper.

To put a cherry on top, they asked artist Martín Tibabuzo to illustrate their Tapas menu blackboard, a 4×1 meters board fully illustrated with typographical elements and beautiful details.
