Like a cave dug in a cliff, or fossils hundreds of millions years old trapped in lava, when something is buried in another entity, it constitutes an inseparable whole with the background. By applying a similar concept to a shop display at Diesel Shibuya, Beijing-based architect Yoshimasa Tsutsumi has developed an installation method where goods and space are fused with each other.

In creating a plastic wall, he has devised small drawers piled on top of each other in large quantities. Using paper square pipes 40 x 40mm in diameter for the main body and 35 x 35mm in diameter for the drawers, a set of 10,000 units slide within a tiny mechanism covering the whole wall. Like three-dimensional glyphs, a flat inlay is focused, corresponding with the light. The digital wall can be physically manipulated for users to personally configure it in which ever way.
