Storeage, the Amsterdam-based retail design agency, is celebrating 2013’s Year of the Snake with a slew of new clients and an expanded network of relationships in the Chinese market. Storeage currently has five new Chinese clients including Cocoon, the luxury women’s fashion brand; Hongkee, a major footwear retailer; Copais, a distributer of high-end women’s fashion brands; Betu, a fashion brand; and Xiangtai, a creator of machine casings. The design agency also recently completed flagship stores in Beijing and Shanghai for sportswear powerhouse Li Ning, totaling a combined 6,000 square meters.

“Storeage has worked extensively in China for many years, focusing on helping Chinese brands to become global players, and equally, helping global players achieve success in China,” said Leendert Tange, partner and co-founder of Storeage. “We’re fully committed to the market for the obvious business reasons, but also have a deep respect for and belief in the cultural heritage of China and aim to preserve this in our designs.“

Jason Steere, Storeage partner and co-founder added, “With the combination of a European design aesthetic and a local understanding of the market, Storeage is able to offer our clients expertise and best practices from the west and apply them to suit the growing Chinese consumer.” The agency currently has offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and has developed a strong network of consultants and contractors across the region. To further strengthen its network, Storeage recently joined Dutch Design Workspace, a tightly knit group of Dutch creatives working in China.
