Zaha Hadid continues her collaboration with luxury marble retailer Citco in the latest series of benches for the 2013 Salone del Mobile in Milan. While last year the architect designed the ‘Secret Garden Pavilion’ for the company, this year’s tables elevate the material through an object– tables. Perceptions of marble as a baroque, old-world material are reframed by undulating, milled forms in part due to the ability of machinery to mimic precise sculptural craft.

The tables are a a total vision for an object and the configurable relationships between them. The three alternately white or black marble pieces can be composed as the user sees fit. This project will be presented during the 2013 Milan Design Week.
