The Jiberish store is on famed Newbury Street in Boston, MA. We wanted to combine our Colorado roots with some iconic New England elements. The design pulls inspiration from 19th century trapper’s lodges and Rocky Mountain cabins and brings them together in the classic brownstone architecture found in Boston’s Back Bay. Drew Witmer worked with us to design and then build-out the store. He has done all 3 of our spaces and has become a really great partner for us to help bring our vision to life.

The front door, checkout counter, and all hanging racks are all patinaed copper giving a nod to Boston’s history. Stacked firewood sits below the front room benches and up the face of the checkout counter as well as on the ceiling of the middle room. The store flows between an outside and inside vibe with the glow of the changing tent situated in the back alongside real birch trees, moving through slate floor galley with firewood ceiling, then into the den with it’s ledger stone fireplace, Elk rack and tree lined windows facing Newbury Street.

The cabinets are illuminated with modern tape lighting and contrast the antique barn wood. The name “Armory” was drawn from the British attack on the Massachusetts Militia’s Armory at Lexington and Concord that ultimately lead to the American Revolution. Obviously we would be happy to expand on all of this as there was a ton of thought that went into this store and the concept.
