Glen’s Garden Market is now open in Washington DC’s Dupont Circle. The shop, designed by local architecture and interior design firm Studio3877, offers a large selection of locally produced foods, as well interactive spaces where patrons can enjoy wine and beer tastings, a coffee bar, and a cafe to grab a bite before or after roaming the aisles.

The project team at Studio3877 went to Detroit and Philadelphia to study the local market economies and best practices in both cities. Their research inspired the resulting 4,800-square-foot market which features stained natural wood shelving, LED lighting, large display cases, pops of a color coined “Glen’s Green,” and community-driven offerings such as an onsite chef preparing dishes in an open kitchen and cooking classes for the market’s shoppers. Studio3877 collaborated with firm Studio H2G and principal and partner Julie Dugas on the retail concept.
