Have you started planning your summer getaway? Today we would like to get you in a relaxed, holiday mood by sharing some photos captured at Qualia, a resort located on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef region in Australia. The Hamilton Island retreat offers an array of luxury accommodation units in the shape of secluded pavilions, each with its own design personality. There is also a beach house on the property, offering panoramic views of the Coral Sea and Whitsunday Islands.

Qualia’s design is the work of Australian architect Chris Beckingham. His philosophy was to “create a luxurious Australian retreat that stimulates the senses and draws the outside in. The resulting design combines a unique sense of space, openness and harmony. Set amongst native Eucalypts, each pavilion has been handcrafted from the finest imported and local timber and stone“. To complement the natural surrounds, Dennis Nona’s artworks adorn the walls and Freedman Rembel has furnished the interiors with fabrics and patterns inspired by nature.
