Pioneer flagship store by HALFMANN MENNICKHEIM & Vizona, Wolfsburg – Germany

August 15th, 2013 by retail design blog

The design concept for the German denim brand Pioneer uses references from the world of exploration and outdoor gear in an up to date context. It stresses core brand values like originality, performance and good value. The design is based on sustainable materials like concrete and plywood, in combination with smoked glass and bare metal. Fixture details like rubber end-caps with an embossed logo, give the system an authentic, functional look.

On a large scale, the almost architectural look of the back wall system with irregularly arranged display units for merchandising creates a unique and spacious feeling. The lighting concept combines highlighted areas for featured articles, together with a glowing light-stripe in the brand colour, PIONEER blue, giving a strong, widely recognisable store identity in city centres. The project was realised and implemented in cooperation with Vizona.
