Moon Valley Organics rebranding & packaging by Partly Sunny

September 11th, 2013 by retail design blog

Moon Valley Organics makes personal care products that are pure enough to eat (though not advised). Most ingredients are grown on an herb farm, nestled in the foothills of the Washington Cascades, where they carefully craft herbal recipes that harness medicinal powers found in nature.

Established in 1998, Moon Valley Organics honed their formulas over the years with a small line of products and a great deal of rigor. Finally, they were ready to expand. Our charge was to develop a vital retail presence to take them into more stores and reach a broader audience with their exceptional products.

We rebranded the company and designed a comprehensive packaging system to refresh their existing catalog and launch new products. Our approach centered on the idea of folk wisdom—simple, time-tested and connected to the earth—to present their products as both wholesome and effective. We combined this with a fashionably fresh color palette to stand out in a drab sea of natural products.

Every effort, from the selection of packaging materials to production processes, was aligned with their sustainability values, to bring good things into the world while doing the least harm possible.
