Le Toit (French for ‘roof’) is a lounge bar located in the Eden House Premier boutique hotel. The Eden House Premier Boutique Hotel & Bistro is located in the Kerem HaTeymanim neighborhood, a hop, skip and jump away from Tel-Aviv’s lively beach. The previously designed hotel interior was fashioned in a romantic style. Hotel guest rooms include antique furniture, stylized wallpaper and European décor carpets. In contrast, we decided to go in a different direction for the rooftop design – a modern interpretation that offers a fresh and breezy version of the place.

The design’s central element is an indulging 15 meter sofa, custom made for this project. The sofa upholstering is made of a singular fabric, the result of innovative technological developments. It does not warm or wear in the sun and maintains a soothing tactility under any conditions. The seating arrangement is complete with Stone model chairs designed by Marcel Wanders for the “Kartell” brand. The seats’ shape is inspired by the Darbuka, balancing the space with a light, transparent and sophisticated elegance.

The bar is active mainly in the evenings so a great deal of thought was invested in the lighting design. The tables themselves provide a gently dispersed luminescence and the bar is fully illuminated using hidden lighting, with a light wall that includes the project’s logo covering its backside.

Our design includes all aspects of branding, concept and graphics, created especially for this project. Our inspiration was drawn from the fashion world and the floral prints trend, particularly elements including the bird of paradise flower.

The rooftop lounge is a wonderful place to relax and refresh oneself during hot summer days, providing a youthful, fresh atmosphere that blends well with the rooftop party scene that has been gaining momentum in Tel Aviv.
