We at Caulder Moore have just finished designing a new European store concept for Pepe Jeans which launches in Barcelona and Madrid with Paris, Rotterdam and a further site in Barcelona to follow. The new store environment takes Pepe back to its roots as a premium denim brand that has grown from its foundation in 1973 on a Portobello market stall. Now celebrating its 40th year and an international brand sold in 60 countries Pepe felt it was important to showcase their London heritage to a 20-35 year old target audience.

The environment Caulder Moore created takes its inspiration from the sights and sounds of Portobello Market. Graffiti art and language adorn the walls and music comes from resident DJs. The market stall is reinterpreted with acrylic market boxes set against brushed concrete and high-end resin on timber finishes. Fitting room doors in pastel acrylic mimc the house colours Portobello is famous for.
