The new Stone Island Flagship store in Munich opened its doors on 12 September. The 100 square metre, two window and glass door shop is located at number 27 of the prestigious Maximilianstraße.
The store hosts the Stone Island and Stone Island Junior collections as well as the Stone Island Shadow Project. This is the second Flagship store in Germany after the one launched in March 2012 in Sylt, the suggestive island and holiday destination in the North Sea.

The interior design project of the new venue implements the Item / Unit 2 concept, the system created for Stone Island by Marc Buhre, founder of the Heidelberg industrial design firm Zeichenweg TM. Each element of the shop system is conceived for its highly functional design worth.

Garments are exposed on structures using luminous fibreglass, oiled oak and carbon elements mounted on parts in coloured anodised aluminium. Shelves, in mirrored Alucobond and felt, are placed on oiled oak elements or on a coloured glass wall using modular elements borrowed from the sailing world. The Item / Unit 2 system evolves and adapts to meet the site specific values of the spaces where it is installed. In the Munich shop the floor in Pietra Serena stone is cut in large lozenges inspired by the Bavarian flag and Coats of Arms.
