Marques and Jordy have just completed Matrix Space a 1500 sqm Internet complex in Chengdu, China. The influence came from the movie The Matrix. ‘We wanted to give people the feeling of being inside an electronic world’ says lead designer Phonsakorn Arjkongharn ‘It couldn’t be just a normal internet gaming centre, it had to be something special, something different’.

Lighting features which glide up the interior walls and hang overhead were all custom designed and built and add a unique touch to the space. Long tables were built on site as continuous elements. Dynamic floor patterns are also light sources located along the walking areas. A simple material palette was used of white corian, local black stone and leather upholstery for the furniture. The hand logo was influenced from the famous Keanu Reeves pose for the movie.
