The very first aesop store has bowed in the Australian capital at the recently renovated canberra centre. Occupying a compact unit on the first floor, the interior design has been entrusted to Kerstin Thompson Architects, a firm from melbourne which has previously collaborated with the cosmetics brand. Once again they have drawn inspiration from clothing, this time a refined gentleman’s suit.

Felt and black steel have been paired to conjure a cool sense of working style, complemented by sleek steel-framed display units with black japan ply shelves. A subtle detail is the perforated steel screen which creates a threshold between the interior and the surrounding mall. The new aesop store stocks the brand’s full range of body, skin and hair care products.
