Shop Peppermint ‘Skeleton In the Closet’ windows by Melissa Murphy, New York City

February 13th, 2014 by retail design blog

This window display was created by designer, Melissa Murphy for a small boutique in Rochester, NY called Shop Peppermint with shipment hangers that would otherwise have been thrown away.

The plastic was molded and attached to the bust form by hand being careful not to use methods that would release toxic fumes from the plastic. The display was then finished by having the dress sweep up the sides of the window to create movement. The backdrop is a series of empty frames to play on the relationship between a hanger and its garment.
