Heinemann Asia Pacific recently opened their first delicatessen store, A Little Something, at Sydney International Airport, to serve travellers looking to share their travel experience through gourmet gifts. The 246sqm gourmet food and fine wine store is inspired by the classic Parisian delicatessen store. It combines Victorian and modern architectural elements to create a sophisticated yet welcoming shopping environment where travellers can shop for a wide assortment of delicatessen products.

“The store was built on a challenging site, with the long shop front spanning two ramped sections. This meant the central section of the store was not usable as an entrance so we introduced a series of windows and plant boxes which maintained the visibility into the space whilst also creating a homely feel to the store. The store was designed to offer the customer a full range of products which were easy to find and elegantly displayed. The use of blackboard signs humanised the store while modern installations such as the enomatic machine, provide optimal wine tasting for the customer.” Duncan Craig, Head of Store Design for Heinemann Asia Pacific.
