Design Milk take a look around MŌNO, a Honolulu store selling the “small design goods to improve your home, office and lifestyle.” What we like to call, a ‘Nice Things Shop.’ Inspired by a trip to Japan and appreciation for a certain type of retail set-up, founders Dean and Cassy Song transplanted that carefully formulated experience to their home town, and, since Hawaii only has two seasons, the pair concentrate on pieces that retain their usefulness from January to December.

“At the moment, our focus is Small Design Goods, such as stationery, home, and lifestyle products that can be used all year round. We love to see everyday items rethought and reimagined through design.” Currently stocking some of our favourite brands, you’ll find the likes of Midori, Unit Portables, IMM Living and Fjällräven, with plans in the pipeline to create their own range of goods.
