Nike just teased its latest soccer boot, apparently planning to roll out a revolutionary game-changing new technology. However, the competition never sleeps and it seems that German athletic brand adidas is hot on the heels of the Beaverton behemoth. For the first time ever the Herzogenaurach-based brand equipped a soccer boot with its Primeknit technology.

The classic Samba silhouette now comes covered heel to toe in a multicolored knitted upper, fusing an unchallenged second skin-like fit with the strength of a conventional pair of cleats. Each yarn uses special coating that ensures the boots stay water-resistant even when playing on a wet pitch. The limited edition Samba Primeknit launches March 17 at at select adidas boutiques and retailers, as well as adidas’s online store.
