I.Martin, a sister store of the LA staple Helen’s Cycles, has been revamped with an updated design by Glow. The design challenge was to merge two different store units and bring the experienced sales staff front and center. The entire interior, including walls, ceiling and service were finished in a single color.

Paired with this was reclaimed oak beams and wood effect laminate to allow a background that let the bikes stand out. A more centralized checkout finished in strips of old oak beams was positioned near the front door, allowing for better interaction with the customers.

The company’s corporate colors of black, yellow and orange were introduced into the flooring and upholstery accents, and custom pendant lights made from spokes, hubs and chains hang over the checkout area. The idea of reusing existing materials was to reference the nearly 30-year-old brand yet add a more modern feel.
