MAGNMAG fashion and lifestyle flagship store by FAK3, Seoul – Korea

FAK3 have been commissioned to design a series of retail flagships for MAGNMAG a Fashion and Lifestyle brand in Seoul, which originated as a popular online store. The brief was to translate and enhance the online shopping virtual experience into a physical store. Recently completed is 5 storey flagship store in Myeongdong Seoul, comprising of 10000 sqft of fashion and lifestyle zones.

The matt white 5 storey façade has a LED monogram gate defining the entrance, which provides an iconic street presence. The interior is a composition of raw exposed finishes juxtaposed with slick steel furniture and LED elements. The journey through each level consists of hidden surprises within the design, following the MAGNMAG’s brand DNA of ‘Unexpected mix’.

KEY DESIGN FEATURES OF MAGNMAG STORES
MNM LED GATE
Installed at the MAGNMAG matt white store front is an Iconic MNM super mirror monogram gate with colour changing LED light, greeting customers while providing an edgy visual statement at street level.

MAGBOTS
Robotic displays move round the shop showcasing new product launches. FAK3 collaborated with engineers to develop this system.
RAW CHIC
The backdrop to the MAGNMAG products, are raw unfinished walls made up of untreated concrete with retained remnants of the building history. The markings and scars on the walls are conceptually memories telling a story of the buildings past, while the active store is a story of the future.

MAGLOOP
An Iconic mechanical 7 metre tall vertical display in-cased in a glass box, which showcases a mix of MAGNMAG products, moving them vertically on a moving loop from if to 2f.
SECRET ROOM
Made up of mirrors that create an infinity effect when experiencing the space, the secret room also has a structural glass floor which customers can stand and view down, from its location on the 3rd floor to the if entrance.
