citizenM Times Square Hotel by Concrete Architectural Associates, New York City

June 9th, 2014 by retail design blog

Emphasizing affordable luxury, Dutch-based citizenM has made its American debut with a brand new Times Square tower in the heart of New York City. Constructed by Amsterdam’s Concrete Architectural Associates off the corner of Broadway and 50th Street, citizenM Times Square boasts a contemporary double-height living room plaza – complete with vibrant works by artist Julian Opie – with 230 compact guest rooms stacked above.

In addition to the boldly decorated plaza is a rooftop bar and 24/7 grab-and-go canteenM while rooms stay true to citizenM’s mantra of “more for less,” cutting out hidden costs and removing old hotel clichés in favor of king-sized beds, wall-to-wall windows, anti-jet lag rain showers, free WiFi, and free movies on the high-definition LED TVs. Offering everything you need for a night of entertainment or just a good night’s sleep, citizenM Times Square opened in April and has rooms available now starting at just $199 USD per night.
