BeautyLane Perfumery by UniversalProjekt, Potsdam – Germany

June 12th, 2014 by retail design blog

With a feminine yet modern environment, BeautyLane a cosmetic and perfumery store designed by UniversalProjekt, recently opened its doors in the Berlin adjacent municipality of Potsdam. The concept for the design of the store was creating a space with an elegantly modern and playful aesthetic with a soothing and relaxed environment where customers from all ages would enjoy spending the time to find a suitable beauty product catering to their needs. Within the distinct areas within the store: cosmetics, beauty products, skincare and beauty salon, a play on wood textures, light and rose tones and modern light fixtures are used to highlight extensive product selection.

Each area is defined with a different balance of the same design elements, thus creating a feeling of continuity and openness throughout the entire space. An iconic vintage Trabi (popular car produced in former East Germany) located in the store’s beauty salon in an untraditional rose tone serves a playful focal point while making an homage to the city’s history.
