Hear the words ‘ribs’ and ‘steaks’, and you might picture a cheap chain restaurant with tacky mementos on the walls and bright neon beer logos, but you’ll find none of that at the new Hurricane’s Express in Chatswood NSW. This quick service restaurant offers proof that it is possible to create a stylish and unique hospitality venue that can withstand constant trade day and night. Commercial furniture producer Nufurn worked in conjunction with Giant Design and the team at Hurricanes for five months to design, prototype and deliver the final result.

The full fit out includes Industrix No.3 chairs, which give the striking industrial look of steel, but are actually manufactured from light-weight aluminium that will never rust. Replica Jean Prouve restaurant chairs sit under solid Tasmanian oak table tops, which are handmade here in Australia. They include the restaurant logo literally branded into the wood. Our favourite feature of all however, is the beautiful exposed ceiling with its intricate maze of black painted beams and pipes. This Hurricane’s Express can be found at Westfield shopping centre in Chatswood NSW.
