Holt Renfrew’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre location in Toronto was the first to undergo an extensive renovation, transforming it into an enhanced shopping experience for customers. The redesigned, Canadian luxury retail department store is double the size of the original space and offers unique amenities that encourage customers to spend their day in the store shopping, eating and getting pampered.

An integral design aspect of the revamped department store is the lighting. Salex (southern Ontario’s largest lighting agency) worked with Suzanne Powadiuk Design on the stunning lighting design of the 120,000 sq. ft. store, which features contemporary and elegant track lighting from ERCO Lighting throughout.

Store amenities include a café serving gourmet pastries and light fare, an invitation-only private shopping lounge called the Apartment and a beauty bar that provides free skin care consultations and facials from an in-house aesthetician. The newly designed Holt Renfrew Yorkdale will serve as a prototype for existing and future stores.
