Suyama Peterson Deguchi designed the exterior concept for retailer Oakley, a prototype that was then adapted at several locations nationwide. Elements of the design include a facade treatment of fractured planes as well as a logo treatment that entices shoppers from around the corner at the retailer’s 5th Avenue store in New York. The design along the side of the store’s street facade echoes the speed of traffic, lights and pedestrian movement at this frenetic Midtown location. Inside, Moment Factory designed a permanent installation comprised of 27 LCD screens on the ceiling that responds to Oakley’s “Disruptive by Design” brand direction. Valerio, as architect of record, designed the store’s interior.
