Bahnhöfli Restaurant by Barmade Interior Design, Sursee – Switzerland

March 30th, 2015 by retail design blog

For the design of the new restaurant „Bahnhöfli“ in Sursee it was the aim to preserve and emphasise the nostalgic character of the historic railway building. A picture gallery stretches across the walls telling the story of the „Sursee-Triengen“ Railway. A narrow side room appears as inside of an old wagon and on the way to the restrooms the guest seems to follow a railway tunnel. The dark blue color of the walls creates a contrast to the old wood paneling and the furniture that was reused from the former restaurant.

The sheer use of bright colors is the most interesting thing here. Also, the rugs and old bags in the display are awesome, they gave an ecstatic look. Would complement the lighting as well. Perfect.
