Up-and-coming Polish hotel brand Puro recently opened its fourth location in Gdansk, a city along the banks of the Motlawa River on Granary Island. A region that was devastated during World War II, the area has since enjoyed a period of rebirth and popularity.

The interior of the hotel — designed by London-based DeSallesFlint — pays homage to the area’s industrial history, while the structural architecture is the work of KD Kozikowski Design. The entire hotel possesses a polished yet authentic atmosphere, with heavy suspended light fixtures and soft tones of brown, yellow and tan that highlight the space’s curation of art.
