BREWERIES! District 6 micro brewery by M-style, Bangalore – India

December 20th, 2015 by retail design blog

Japanese office M-style has renovated the interior of a micro brewery in Bangalore, India. Entitled ‘District 6‘, the restaurant is located at the ground floor of the city’s Sheraton hotel, envisioned as an industrial venue where customers are invited to drink within the brewing equipment.

As the name suggests, the restaurant features six distinct regions: a brew tank area, a beer tank section, an alfresco zone, a front kitchen and public and private dining rooms. Even though each space is designed differently, the overall composition maintains a degree of consistency through the use of similar textures and colors. Taking advantage of Bangalore’s warm climate, the design offers outdoor seating where customers are able to enjoy the pleasant year-round weather.

Large brew tanks are positioned in the middle of the space, encircled by a long bar. This serves as the focal point of the project and contains identifiable features such as brick columns, thick wooden panels with rough surfaces and partitions composed of stacked timber railroad pieces. Tanks – imported from Germany – are installed within the seating area, with highly polished metallic surfaces that establish a distinct contrast with the rough-textured walls and furnishings.
