Lord & Taylor Luxury Department Store by BHDP, Boca Raton – Florida

February 19th, 2016 by retail design blog

Inspired by the Classic American architecture of the New York City Flagship, the innovative style of Lord & Taylor’s fashions, and the hints of Boca Raton, the overall design concept resonate with the New York born Floridian shopper. Located in a mixed-use lifestyle center, Lord & Taylor looked to BHDP to design this two-story, 80,000 sf full interior renovation. The new prototype concept communicates three layers of aesthetic that informs the Floridian guest about the brands ability to speak of the brand’s history, local relevance and forward thinking.

The first layer is the framework of an architectural envelope that evokes the classic American heritage, while a forward layer of modern furniture, tables, and showcases celebrate the fashion forward merchandise and brands. But hidden beneath and beyond the first two layers is a subliminal layer that speaks to the familiar Addison Mizner inspired finishes and details of Boca Raton and the lifestyle center.
