Next to the usual suspects that gain the global limelight each season, Paris is also home to a handful of high quality labels that steer clear from the fashion week hoopla and instead follow a trajectory of their own. One of those gems is RIVES, a men’s fashion house dedicated to contemporary menswear and headed by creative director Sylvain Fischmann. Fusing ready-to-wear and and the more personalized service that made-to-measure tailoring entails, rives offers discerning males a range of considered menswear options. The silhouettes are classic, but subtly lean towards a contemporary urban aesthetic with detailing to match. The company currently makes a custom-made clothing line but aims to offer a ready-to-wear collection shortly.

All designs are concocted in the brand’s Parisian design studio and made in traditional workshops, but meanwhile RIVES has anticipated a more direct interaction with its customer base by opening a stylish boutique in the Opéra neighbourhood. The retail space has been designed in collab with french designer Marc Ange, and features a setting that’s very much an extrapolation of the company’s brand values. The palette of the interior design is inspired by contrasts, and this is captured by monolithic furnishings and matching slabs of concrete, marble and mirror. The setting is framed by herringbone parquet flooring and a moulded ceiling and walls. A specially designed neon sign adds a playful retro touch. The RIVES boutique carries the brand’s full range of apparel and footwear.
