Mellow bistro by Whitespace, Bangkok – Thailand

April 10th, 2016 by retail design blog

Targeting Thonglor hipsters, Mellow is a casual, indoor-outdoor bistro featuring food & drinks, and live jazz. To achieve the feel of an artist’s studio-loft, the two-story structure was stripped down and exposed, and large industrial style windows were installed. The interiors were designed to achieve casual comfort, and the ability to present frequently changing art exhibitions. Both levels feature a distressed red brick wall and comfortable leather and natural wood furniture. The second floor features a large open-air balcony.

After the success of the first Mellow restaurant on Thonglor, the owners set out to expand it’s brand to another location. Unlike its older sister’s design, Mellow Crystal Design Center has a more warm atmosphere and afternoon brunch setting with white brick walls and natural lighting, while keeping the design styling of natural wood furniture, exposed high ceiling with both indoor and outside dining.
