A late 19th century building clad in historic persona and grandeur sets the scene for Nudie Jeans’ latest repair shop, and first step into Munich.

Located in the Gärtnerplatzviertel neighborhood, the 85 sq. meter space fuses its majestic blueprint with an interior referencing the minimalist modernity of mid-century design. Conceptualized by in-house interior architect Ida Toll, a calming neutrality is achieved through a palette of off-white, steel grey and subtle shimmering of green. Simple base elements of untreated steel and concrete punctuated with vintage fixtures and furnishings, allow the focus to be on product, while reiterating a sustainability statement to produce less.

Tensioned racks between floor and ceiling and dropped spotlights provide an invisible gridded floorplan, while powerfully highlighting original architectural features, in particular three original archways dominating the full width of the space. Fixtures also speak minimalist – framework tables are fabricated from expanded metal; while the dominating “denim wall”, a staple in past retail launches, has been pared down into a modular shelving matrix. Stripped back, gritty industrial and a sustainable sensibility may seem contradictory, however this interplay has become an indigenous watermark for the Swedish brand’s stores.

Visitors to the store will find organic unisex denim collections, men’s collection and accessories and a complimentary denim repair service as standard. The neighborhood, close to amenities of the city center while having its own independent local spirit, attracted Nudie Jeans to plant roots down.
