Ensemble branding by Phoenix Wharf

July 11th, 2016 by retail design blog

Ensemble are a new café and restaurant brand located in the heart of the cathedral city of Wells in Somerset. The vision for the brand stems from the ethos behind it and after working closely with our client Phoenix Wharf were able to capture the narrative of their unique identity. The essence of storytelling with a unique character was a large part of the final product, the design shows an ensemble of British woodland animals in a bespoke style to compliment the clean and elegant serif logo. The dashed line patterns were then extracted and used across packaging, product labels, loyalty cards, menus and a series of postcards.

Fine gold foil adds a little something special and symbolises a more premium brand message, while mirroring metal details found in the interior design. These different elements visually refer to the idea of an ensemble, using materials and textures. The project incorporated all aspects of the brand, from the creation of a new identity through to signage, print collateral, packaging and web design.
