July 24th, 2016 by retail design blog

Altana Lamp is an astounding transitional lamp that features tradition in the modern world. Hub8 Ltd, the creators, launched a campaign seeking community support to raise £9,000 by August 12, 2016. Funds received will be used to manufacture the product for distribution.

Handmade and assembled in Italy, the Altana Lamp is the result of pure beauty and functionality. Skilled glass masters combine the ancient technique of glassblowing with modern design and technology. The product is entirely made from glass to create a timeless, minimalistic, and fresh look. When looking in the lamp’s transparency offers an illusion of structural suspension. Altana’s mirrored effect also reflects a rooms ever-changing atmosphere. Designed for better lighting performance, this product contains an integrated LED system called Q-CORE engine, which lasts for 40.000 hours. At 1500 Lumen, the light is equivalent to a traditional 200-watt light bulb.

The Hub8 Ltd team wanted to take decorative glass to new heights. They set out to design a Lamp that is better than light fixture currently available on the market. Designed to be transitional, minimalistic, with traditional roots, and innovative solutions, Altana is the world’s first lamp to create a whole new category.
