Kiva Design has designed the new offices of Foliot Furniture located in Saint-Jérôme, Québec, Canada. Foliot Furniture, founded in Québec, is dedicated to providing quality furnishings for the hospitality and educational communities throughout North America. The goal for the 38,000sf of renovations was two-fold: to impress clients and inspire the employees.

A company focused on staff well-being, Foliot wanted transform the existing workplace into an environment that would attract millennials and retain the existing Generation X and Baby Boomer staff, while increasing productivity and efficiency. Kiva Design’s new layout focuses on areas to promote collaboration and mentoring, while addressing the differences in the communication styles and work habits of these 3 diverse generations.

The previous work environment comprising a majority of closed offices was opened up to allow natural light to flow throughout, as well as to inspire collaboration and innovation with break-out areas and flexible workstation configurations. The addition of a mezzanine for the employees’ cafeteria creates a social hub. Mobility was also a key element of the design solution and non-assigned workstations cater to mobile work-styles.
