Semegae, meaning a long-tailed chicken, is a traditional Korean chicken bbq restaurant. Design concept started with a rhombus-shaped hen and a chicken. Chicken bbq was cheap and traditional Korean food. In spite of the ubiquitous food, we intended to provide extraordinary experience through trendy and chic space.

The layout of restaurant was designed to separate the seating area from the busy isle functionally and visually. We matched the ceiling design with the design of duct systems including supply, return and exhaust units, which is necessary for Chicken bbq. At the initial branding stage, the facade was designed such that the space could be connected with visual graphic in consideration of art works’ and posters’ locations. In particular, the restroom was built as a very clean and luxurious space in order to render Semegae’s unique branding in floor, tile shape, and faucet.
