Although luxury sales in Hong Kong have been seriously slumpy these past few seasons, Louis Vuitton gives the city a big thumbs up by way of a dramatic revamp of its flagship store at the landmark shopping complex in Central. The transformation is evident from afar as the boutique now dons a new glass façade, created by Tokyo-based architect Jun Aoki. Upon entering the premises, plush settings by Peter Marino, another longtime collaborator of the luxury brand, unfold across two expansive floors, featuring a string of homey seating arrangements surrounded by custom-made shelving, displays, and curated pieces of art.

There’s even has a private space where only the most discerning of clients are allowed to discreetly make their purchases. Given the store’s stature in the city’s retail scene, it offers the full range of Louis Vuitton products, including women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, leather goods, watches, jewellery and fragrances, in addition to special services, such as the availability of a personal stylist, the personalization of mon damier graphite products, mon monogram, and through painting.

And to keep things perfectly balanced, the luxury house has also redeveloped its other mega flagship in town, situated across Victoria Harbour, on Canton road.

Design: Jun Aoki. and Peter Marino
