Delta premium travelers — Delta class, first class and Delta premium select — prepare yourselves to fly in style. The Atlanta-based airline has announced their partnership with Italian houseware and kitchen utensil Company Alessi that consists of 86 unique service ware pieces. Called the “Alessi for Delta collection”, the set sees an array of big names that include Patricia Urquiola, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Stefano Giovannoni, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Kristina Lassus, and Miriam Mirri.

“This marks the first time the design company, known for innovative and unique designs, has appeared in flight with a major airline with such a comprehensive program,” says Delta on their news site. “With nearly a hundred years of experience crafting innovative objects for serving food and drinks, Alessi was a natural choice for Delta,” says Alberto Alessi, president of Alessi. “At Alessi we have worked with some of the most exciting designers in our international network to create the most innovative and advanced in-flight collection in the contemporary design scene.”

The Alessi for Delta collection is based on popular items already on Alessi’s catalogue where each one has been intervened and redesigned in order to fit aviation rules and regulations. The array is comprised of glasses, cutlery, porcelain plates, stainless steel serving tools, salt and pepper shakers and tabletop accessories like napkin rings and bread baskets. This initiative is part of Delta’s multi-billion dollar investment in customer experience and will start taking over the fleet beginning of April 1st.

“The Alessi for Delta collection is part of our continued investment in delivering world class, global culinary experience that will elevate our customer in-flight experience to new heights,” comments Allison Ausband, Delta’s senior vice president in-flight service. “At Delta, we know that every aspect and detail of the travel experience matters, and partnering with Alessi allows us to bring an uncompromising level of elegance and service to the onboard experience.”
