Following outposts in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco, womenswear brand Isabel Marant has added a new boutique in yet another high-profile shopping destination stateside: Miami’s fast-evolving Design district. The Paris-based designer has found a home for the store on the ground floor of the Garden Lounge Building, a two-storey building with a green roof, and features an interior design by French architect Laurent Deroo. Isabel Marant is known to steer clear from generic retail design, lending each of her shops a unique identity, and this latest endeavour is no exception. Measuring 140 sqm., the aesthetic draws inspiration from the modernist 1950s and 1960s French brutalist architecture.

However, the palette is adventurously eclectic, comprising of terrazzo made of concrete, lava stone and textile on cork, and lends the setting a distinctly modern edge. A chunky sofa, clad in raw wool, and a futuristic chandelier are situated at the centre of the store, and provide an eccentric focal point. Clothing is displayed on thin racks, supported by earthy concrete totems, and white wooden suspended partition screens badd contrasting lightness. The new Isabel Marant store carries the brand’s full range of apparel, accessories and shoes, in addition to a selection of pieces from the Étoile Isabel Marant diffusion line. And meanwhile across the big pond, the French brand has opened another signature boutique in downtown Oslo.
