Narrow alleys in Japan adorned with retro lanterns and nostalgic neon signs, packed with shops one after another bustling with laughter and commotion, infused with smells of delicious food… That is the yoko-cho. With this as inspiration, the designers from Arterior Singapore Pte Ltd successfully created ‘Shokutsuten’ in Great World City Shopping Mall in Singapore, bringing a modern twist to the traditional cultural Japanese food street.

Included within ‘Shokutsuten’ are Ichiban Boshi, Kuriya, Shimbashi Soba, Menichi and Ami-ami, offering a wide variety of Japanese cuisine such as soba, robata, sushi as well as a fish and seafood market. Each shop features a unique experience and ambience, representing the fusion of interesting shops and flavors reminiscent of the yoko-cho, making ‘Shokutsuten’ one of the greatest and most popular modern yoko-chos in the world.
